CBV is a fellowship of believers in Jesus Christ. Our greatest desire is to know Christ and to be conformed to His image by the power of the Holy Spirit.
We Believe the true basis of Christian fellowship is God’s love, which is greater than our differences.
We Believe that there is one living and true GOD, eternally existing in three persons: The Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit who are equal in power and glory. This triune God created all, upholds all, and governs all according to the purpose of His will. (Genesis 1:1; Deuteronomy 6:4; Isaiah 44:8 and 48:16; Matthew 28:19-20; John 10:30; Hebrews 1:3).
God the Father
We Believe God the Father is infinite, eternal, personal Spirit, perfect in holiness, wisdom, power, and love.
We Believe God concerns Himself mercifully in the affairs of men; He hears and answers prayer; and He saves from sin and death all who come to Him through faith in Jesus Christ. (Deuteronomy 33:27; Psalms 90:2 and 102:27; John 3:16 and 4:24; 1 Timothy 1:17; Titus 1:3).
God the Son
We Believe in Jesus Christ—the second person of the Godhead, God's only begotten Son, the promised Messiah, conceived by the Holy Spirit.
We Believe in His virgin birth, sinless life, miracles, teachings, bodily resurrection, ascension into heaven, perpetual intercession for His people, and personal, visible return to earth.
We Believe that Jesus Christ is fully God and fully human, possessing two distinct natures which are co-joined in one person, and that He provided for the atonement of our sins by His vicarious, substitutionary death on the cross. (Isaiah 7:14; Micah 5:2; Matthew 1:23; Mark 16:19; Luke 1:34-35; John 1:1-2, 8:58 and 11:25; 1 Corinthians 15:3-4; 1 Timothy 3:16; Hebrews 1:8; 1 John 1:2; Revelation 1:8).
God the Holy Spirit
We Believe in the Holy Spirit—the third person of the Godhead, who came forth from the Father and Son to convict the world of sin, righteousness, and judgment; and to regenerate, sanctify, and empower all who believe in Jesus Christ for ministry. (Acts 1:8; 2 Corinthians 3:18; John 16:8-11; Romans 8:26 and 15:13,16; Hebrews 9:14).
We Believe that the Holy Spirit indwells every believer in Jesus Christ and that He is an abiding helper, teacher, and guide. (John 6:13, 14:16-17 and 16:8-11; Romans 8:26).
We Believe in the baptism of the Holy Spirit, evidenced by a greater dynamic in the Christian’s life, enabling that person to be a bold and more effective witness. The supreme evidence of the Spirit filled life is the Fruit of the Spirit-love.
We Believe in the present ministry of the Holy Spirit and in the exercise of all the biblical gifts of the Holy Spirit, to be employed within scriptural guidelines. We believe that love is more important than the most spectacular gifts, and without this love, all exercise of spiritual gifts is worthless (1 Corinthians 12-14).
We Believe the Old and New Testaments are the Word of God, fully inspired without error in their original manuscripts and are the infallible rule of faith and practice. The Bible is the foundation upon which the church operates and is the basis for which the church is governed. We believe that the Bible supersedes any earthly law that is contrary to the Holy Scriptures. (Isaiah 28:13; Nehemiah 8:8; John 17:17; 2 Timothy 3:16-17; Hebrews 4:12; 1 Peter 1:23-25; 2 Peter 1:3-4 and 1:21).
We Believe that God is the Creator and Sustainer of the heavens and the earth and of every basic form of life. We believe that God created all things ex nihilo (out of nothing) as taught in the book of Genesis, calling it good. We believe that God exercises providential care for every life form in His creation, and calls Christians to be faithful stewards of the natural world.
We Believe that God created man and woman as unique biological persons made to complete each other. God instituted monogamous marriage between male and female as the foundation of the family and the basic structure of human society. For this reason, we believe that marriage is exclusively the union of one genetic male and one genetic female, sanctioned by the church and recognized by the state as evidenced by a marriage ceremony. (Genesis 2:24; Matthew 19:4-6; John 4:16-18; Romans 1:18-32; I Corinthians 5:11, 6:9-11, 6:18-20, 7:1-3 and 7:8-9; Galatians 5:19-21; Ephesians 5:3-7; 1 Timothy 1:9-11).
We Believe that man is created in the image of God; however, after the fall of Adam and Eve, all people are by nature separated from God and responsible for their own sin. All people are sinners and fall short of God’s standard and righteous commandments; therefore, we are under God’s righteous judgment. Yet, God saves and gives new life to all who come to Him in repentance and faith, trusting in the Person and work of Jesus Christ. At the cross, Jesus Christ died in our place as our substitute, absorbing God’s judgment that should have come upon us. Because Jesus died for the sins of the world, the invitation to believe is open to all, and whoever desires may come unto Jesus for new life and the forgiveness of sins. (Romans 3:23, Acts 3:19, Acts 20:21, Ephesians 2:1-3 and 2:8-9, 1 John 2:2, John 3:16, Matthew 11:28, Revelation 22:17).
We Believe when a person repents of sin and receives Jesus Christ as personal Savior and Lord, trusting Him to save, that person is immediately born again and sealed by the Holy Spirit, all his/her sins are forgiven, and that person becomes a child of God, destined to spend eternity with the Lord.
We Believe in the universal church, the living spiritual body, of which Christ is the Head, and all regenerated persons are members.
We Believe that Jesus committed two ordinances to the church: 1) baptism and 2) the Lord's Supper. We believe in baptism by immersion and Communion open to all believers. (Matthew 28:19; Luke 22:19-20; Acts 2:38; 1 Corinthians 11:23-26)
We Believe in the laying on of hands for the baptism of the Holy Spirit, for ordination of pastors, elders, and deacons, and receiving from the Holy Spirit through the believer the gift of healing.
We Believe that the church has the responsibility to worship the Lord and share the good news of Christ's death and resurrection to the world, making disciples, baptizing believers, and teaching them to observe sound doctrine and to live a holy life.
We believe in the Second Coming of Jesus Christ, which is His personal, visible return to earth and the establishment of His millennial kingdom. The body of believers will be resurrected, the final judgment and eternal blessing of the righteous and endless separation of the wicked will take place. (Matthew 16:27; Acts 1:11; Revelation 19:11-16 and 20:11-15)
We believe in the Pre-Tribulation Rapture of the Church where all believers will meet the Lord in the air and be taken out of this world prior to the Tribulation that will come upon the earth. (Isaiah 26:20; Matthew 24:29-31; Luke 21:36; Romans 1:18, 5:9; 1 Thessalonians 1:10, 4:13-16 and 5:9; 2 Peter 2:7-9; Revelation 3:10, 5:7-10 and 7:13-14)
THIS IS OUR PURPOSE
Creating Life Change
Everything we do is about creating life change and we want to build and provide opportunities for change in every realm of life: spiritually, relationally, professionally, and emotionally. We want to see people give their lives to Jesus Christ and become better husbands and wives, mothers and fathers, students, employees and business owners. A relationship with Jesus makes life better—and it makes you better at life.
We are a fellowship of believers who pursue the God who passionately pursues a lost world; we do this by connecting with one another, through worship, by the Word, to the world. Our desire is to show how God's Word and faith in Him are applicable and relevant to everyday life. We desire to know JESUS and make Him known.
We express our adoration of Jesus through dynamic worship and uncompromised obedience.
We explain the relevance of the Bible to empower and transform lives for service.
We extend hope to a hurting world by proclaiming the gospel and demonstrating Christ's love.
